Signed gravel spur off Route 1 between Höfn and Djúpivogur, under the 757 m Eystrahorn massif. Very exposed to wind off the sea, and this stretch of the Ring Road drifts with snow in winter.

Gravel car park by the Hvalnes lighthouse. The mountain blocks part of the northern sky — walk out along the black-sand shore for a clear horizon.
