Getting There

A · Drive-up — park and you are there

Safety

One of Iceland's smallest villages, on Route 68 along Hrútafjörður about 10 km north of the Ring Road. Easy to reach year-round, but there are no services after hours — fuel and food are back at Staðarskáli.

Parking

Park on the gravel by the old trading houses at the shore. The fjord opens to the north and the village has only a handful of lights; a minute's walk along the beach clears them.
